Lost or stolen phone
Your money is safe. Your balance lives in your Flint account, not on your phone. Losing the device doesn't lose the money — your balance, history, and group pools stay exactly as you left them.
1. Getting back in
Your account has two ways in — your phone number and your email. You can use whichever one you can still receive a code on, so losing your phone (or your number) doesn't lock you out.
- Install Flint on your new device.
- Enter your phone number or your email — we send a 6-digit code to either.
- Lost or changed your number too? Sign in with your email instead.
- Your balance and groups are all there once you're back in.
2. If someone has your phone
Sign in on a device you control, then sign the lost one out from inside the app.
- Sign in on your new device with your email or number.
- Open Profile → Devices and tap “Sign out other devices” to remove the lost phone.
- Freeze or replace your card from the card screen.
- Report the phone lost to your carrier so it can't receive your codes.
A Flint sign-in always needs a fresh 6-digit code sent to your phone or email — so a lost, unlocked phone alone isn't enough to get into your account once you've signed it out.
3. Set yourself up before it happens
A few things now make recovery quick later:
- Keep both your phone number and email current — codes go to them.
- Turn on a device passcode and Face ID.
- Check Profile → Devices now and then, and sign out anything you don't recognize.
- Never share sign-in codes. Flint will never ask you for one.
